Ian, Marcel and all:
Ian's "information appliance" only exploits part of the usefulness
of CSP/occam constructs. Software can be built the same way
- as hot swappable components - in fact the software and hardware
are interchangeable. I demonstrated this in my PDPTA'96 paper
and followup of a 200 component software complex (each component
being an independent program, connected by channels) in DOS 5
on a one-megabyte palmtop. I've been waiting ever since for the
ship to come in...
This software is reconfigurable on the fly with no OS support,
infact software and hardware modules are interchangeable.
