Folks,
For some time now there has been a link on the wotug.org site to the occam-com
mailing list archives for the year 2000; this was a test to see if anyone used
it/objected to it.
The Good News:
--------------
As there have been users, and there have been no objections received, I have
extended this facility to include all years for which I have mails. Basically,
this is most of 1998 to 2004 (i.e. now).
Look at http://www.wotug.org/lists/occam
and especially: http://www.wotug.org/lists/occam/summary.shtml
The Bad News:
-------------
Sadly, going through the tender mercies of at least three OSs and four mail
clients has not improved the quality of my archive. I know there are a few
(probably about 10) posts missing. There are also a few (probably about 5)
that have been macerated and though still the same words the layout is not
as the poster intended.
You Can Help:
-------------
If anyone has an archive of occam-com that they wish to contribute that either
spans a longer period or they believe to be actually complete, I am very
willing to replace or add to what I have here. mbox format (that is, single
file with "From " separators) is best, because that is whay hypermail uses;
others will require transformation, but that is not usually too hard.
Objections:
-----------
If anyone objects to their posts appearing in the archive please contact me.
It has been the policy of WoTUG for several years now that the list might be
publicly archived, but should anyone have concerns "my door is open" :-)
Best wishes,
Ruth
P.S. I don't have an archive of java-threads, but am willing to put it on the
server should (a) those on the list not object and (b) if someone can provide
the posts.
