Run-Time Reconfigurable Logic in High Performance Computing (part II)

On May 16th, PPC continues its exploration of run time reconfigurable 
hardware; Bo Varga  of Giga Ops Corp. will present.  Multifunction 
boards with reprogramming taking place during process context switch 
time, self-adaptive Neural Networks, systolic array processing - all 
very attractive!  ASIC level high performance at affordable prices and 
hardware is intrinsically parallel.  An important application of this 
technology is real time video signal processing!

Giga Ops plans to provide compilation of C to gates later in 1994.  This 
is enabling technology and Giga Ops' is actively seeking collaborative 
alliances; everything is possible including stock options, and hardware 
and software licensing arrangements.

A discussion of member entrepreneurial projects currently underway 
will begin at 7:15PM and the main meeting will start promptly at 
7:45PM at Sun Microsystems at 901 San Antonio Road in Palo Alto. 
This is just off the southbound San Antonio exit of 101.  Northbound 
travelers also exit at San Antonio and take the overpass to the other side 
of 101.

Please be prompt; as usual, we expect a large attendance; don't be left 
out or left standing. There is a $10 fee for non-members and members 
will be admitted free.  Yearly membership fee is $50; corporate 
membership fee is $400/year.
