We are proud to announce the "Brunello" mailing list, and an accompanying 
WWW page for use by the Distributed Algorithms and Systems community.
The loose aim of the list is to promote the exchange of ideas and
information relating to Distributed Algorithms and Systems amongst researchers
and practitioners in the field. 

It is hoped that the list can be used for the group
construction/notification of some of the following:
- Discussion on the analysis and behaviour of distributed algorithms
- Annotated bibliographies
- Discussion of tools for the construction of new algorithms
- Job/Research/Conference notices

The list has its origin in the "First International Summer School on
Distributed Algorithms" which was hosted by the University of Siena
>from June 2 to June 17 1994. It was generally agreed that the
distributed algorithms community was not particularly well served by
existing information resources. In time, this list could develop to
fill that gap. Contributions, both to the mailing list and the WWW page, 
are encouraged!
