hi,

i have installed mpich 1.1 on a digital unix cluster.
-device=ch_p4 -arch=alpha -comm=shared.

i have single and multiple processor boxes in the cluster, hence the
-comm=shared setting. the documentation says that this could be done in
the case, but it did not specify for wich OS.

i noticed that on a single processor machine shared memory is allocated,
but not release anymore.
should i have not used the -comm=shared?

any comments/input greatly appreciated.

thanks,
hans
