I'm sure they'll fix it, especially if the explanation is submitted
to them at the right place (mpi-bugs@mcs.anl.gov).

They do read this group, but I happen to know that Rusty is in the far 
east this week.

Before posting MPICH problems here you are well advised to check out
the MPICH home page at www.mcs.anl.gov/mpi/mpich which includes
a list of know bugs and patch files...
