Having recently installed mpich on a Linux network, here's what I've found:

The first thing I'd check is that you have a .rhosts file that lists all the
machines on the network.

If that doesn't solve it, then look under /mpich/examples/basic, and there
should be a shell script called "mpirun" ... try copying that into your
directory, setting your privelages on it to include execute, and then doing
your mpirun as usual.
