I am using MPICH 1.1.0 under Solaris 2.5.1 and my program is mostly C++
with some C.

I would like to generate upshot log files, but rather than using the
predefined tasks/events
defined by the profiling libraries, which correspond to low-level MPI
routines, I'd like to
make up my own tasks/events.

Can anybody explain how to do this? I looked at the user's guide for
MPICH, and found it
to very vague on this topic, although it implies it is possible.

I'd appreciate replies by e-mail as well as to the newsgroup.

Thanks, Jonathan
