hi

i am a parallel newbie and i am very interested in parallel-computing
now, that i heard from
it. i am feeling very comfortable with linux and unix and i have a bit c
programming expirience.
since i built my home-cluster with choosable 4 to 6 diskless nodes on
10MBit Ethernet.
i tried lam, pvm and scms (which is my favourite X-app now) and i wonder
if there are
any more examples than sigmasqrt (which is in the scms distr.).
when trying the "master and slave"-example my machines go sleeping. ???

i am not very used to the c compiler at linux because i learnt c at
school on windows.
has anybody some simple examples to start parallel programming or are
there any
good internet links to surf...??
can i get ready compiled applications from somewhere??
are there any libaries documentations ??
which books i have to read???
where to start ???

thanks for all suggestions
