Well this is certainly interesting....

I have some 'C' MPI code that I am trying to get running on Linux
(ch_p4) and have been getting the same exact errors as you have during a
call to MPI_Bcast().

And just like you, my code works fine when I run it on an IBM SP2 using
native MPI.

I am currently investigating this and will let you know if I find the
problem -- Hopefully you'll do the same for me!
