Has anyone succesfully managed to get a hook up between a Windows95 PC
and a UNIX box. I am having extreme difficulty getting the connection to
stay. When I start PVM on the PC and then use add "host" it will start
PVM on the UNIX box but then the PC seems to hang waiting for some
message. There is obvioulsy some communication as when pvm.exe is run
with -d8 the PC tells me that the UNIX box is running 3.3.11 whilst it
is is running 3.3.10. The only way it could know this is by queryin the
UNIX daemon. The program then usually stops with a bogus packet in
netstartup followed by a timeout. I am at a loss to understand what is
happening here. I am using the Ataman rshd software to supply the rsh
protocols and the UNIX box can run rsh commands on the PC so I do not
think there is a security issue. Any help appreciated
