I have no experiences with pvm3.4beta, but with pvm3.3 you can:
1) start pvmd deamon in a window with debug option like:
pvmd -d255
2) start the console in an other window. It will use the allready started
deamon
3) in a third window start hello, to controle if it work just on one machine
4) repeat step 1 on another machine
5) add the second machine to the first
6) repeat 3. If it does not work you should at least be able to figure out
what went wrong with the debug messages.

Good luck
Yves Secretan
