I just installed pvm using the rpm package pvm-3.3.11-5.i386.rpm on my
Red Hat 4.2 Linux system. I have used pvm 3.3.11 on the same machine
with slackware in the past, but just recently upgraded to Red Hat.

I am getting the good old "Can't start pvmd" message when trying to add
a host. On the remote machine I get the following in a file called
/tmp/pvml.508:

[t80080000] zelle.drake.edu (207.28.191.65:1211) LINUX 3.3.11
[t80080000] ready Tue Nov  4 04:31:45 1997
[t80080000] netinput() recvfrom(netsock): Connection refused
[t80080000] netinput() recvfrom(netsock): Connection refused
[t80080000] netinput() recvfrom(netsock): Connection refused
...

Does anyone know what could be causing this message? I couldn't find
any information on this error online, and have tried everything I can
think of to fix it. Issueing the command
"rsh -l USERNAME REMOTEHOST pvmd" starts up pvmd just fine, so I know my
.rhost files are set up right. Any ideas?

Thanks much!
