Dear PVM wizards,

I've been trying to make NAMD run on 25 SGI Indys idling at night. Not
trying to roll one's own without dire need, I obtained a NAMD IRIX 5.3
binary, which ran ok in single node mode.

Not having any luck with an according PVM binary, I had to build it from
source, which went apparently smooth:

pvm> version
3.4.beta4
pvm> add cicum89
Console: exit handler called
1 successful
                    HOST DTID
                 cicum89 80000

However, namd goes now totally catatonic when I call it on such a node.
It never tries to

Info> namd beta, $Revision: 1.4 $ ($Date: 96/02/08 14:53:02 $)
(blah blah yadda yadda)

Is this a newbie's stupid mistake, or has my pvm build misfired?

Thanks a lot!

Eugene

P.S. Please cc my address as well, my link to usenet is molasses slow.
P.P.S. $PVM_ROOT is defined on each machine, and the daemons running.
