Hello,
I'm new to PVM. I'm trying to install PVM 3.4 on Linux, and XPVM.
Everything seemed to be okay, I unziped the packages, compiled
everything (after I had made the appropriate changes in the makefiles as
recommended in Readme files), and it compiles without any problem.

I've positionned environment variables such as PVM_ARCH, PVM_ROOT,
PVM_DROOT, + TCL, TK variables etc.

When I run xpvm it says :
/tmp/pvmd.500: no such file or directory
libpvmd: can't start PVM: can't start pvmd

So, I tried to lauch pvmd, but it says:
mksocs() socket netsock: Invalid argument
pvmbailout(0)

Can't someone help me out ? I don't know what's wrong with it.
I've recompiled my Linux kernel without any network support (as it's my
personal stand alone machine), could that be a problem for mksocs ?
Is there some daemon I must launch before I call xpvm ?

Thanks for any help...

Config: Redhat 4.2, PVM 3.4, XPVM (1.???)
