Pk., MD 20742 Date: 15 Jan 1998 13:21:05 -0500 Message-ID: <69lk2h$ogu@mashie.cs.umd.edu> I am trying to run PVM (3.3.11) over Myrinet (using TCP/IP) on RedHat Linux 5.0, and the pvmd start code seems to be failing. The problem is that when I try to add a host, the addhost command hangs. When I turn on debugging, it appears the the master pvmd is trying to send a message to the slave pvmd (which has been correctly started by rsh and is in a select). The configure message never gets through (after 16 re-tries), and the new slave pvmd eventually exits due to a timeout (waiting for master) because it never got the config message from the master pvmd. Everything works fine when I use the 100Mbps Ethernet interfaces. Has anyone seen a problem like this before? -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jeff Hollingsworth Work: (301) 405-2708 Internet: hollings@cs.umd.edu FAX: (301) 405-6707 WWW: http://www.cs.umd.edu/~hollings Home: (301) 649-5829
