Hi,

I am using pvm on Sun-Unix-Workstations and on Windows NT-PC's. Alone
each
system works properly. But
when I want to start the pvmd on an PC from a Sun an error occurs and
the daemon
doesn't start on the PC.

To investigate this problem I tried to start the daemon by hand:

rsh hostname c:/pvm3/lib/win32/pvmd3.exe

The following message appeard:

Could not get PVM_TMP, continuing with c:/temp/pvml.SYSTEM
[pvmd pid189] PVM_ROOT environment variable not set.
[pvmd pid189] pvmbailout(0)

Obviously the environment variables of the PC ar not visible for the
rsh-command.
As rsh-daemon on the PC I am using rshsvc from the MS-NT-Toolkit.

Can anybody help me?
Installing linux on the PC and forget Microsoft... is that the only
solution?
