After getting sick of hacking the Makefiles (I *do* have other things to do), I went to the Redhat site, and did a search for pvm. Downloaded the pvm 3.3.11 rpm from a mirror, did a rpm -i . You do have to set up a user called pvm, so you have to have the root password. Comes precompiled (from memory :), so you just have to set up the appropriate environment variables (PVM_ROOT is /home/pvm/pvm3 on my system).
