In conjunction with the release of version 1.1, which will include the parallel runtimes, we will be hosting a PARSEC Workshop on Friday and Saturday, September 25th and 26th in Los Angeles at UCLA. During the workshop, we will give an extended tutorial on the PARSEC language, followed by detailed case studies and instructions for writing scalable simulations, either through parallel execution or through interoperability with other simulators. There will be demonstrations of existing PARSEC models, and small group discussions of modeling techniques. The cost is $45 now or $55 after September 11th. This price includes refreshments and snacks, lunch on Friday, materials, and parking, if desired. Space is limited, so please register early! We have several rooms blocked off at the DoubleTree Hotel in Westwood. Mention you are going to be attending the Parsec Workshop at UCLA to receive a discounted rate of $102 per night, plus tax. This is a very busy time of year at UCLA, so you are advised to make your reservations early.
