Interestingly enough, the content of this new hosts.equiv file was copied directly out of the .rhosts file in the user home directory. I am still curious as to why the .rhosts was largely ineffective while the hosts.equiv works fine. Seems in this instance to be a Linux-only problem... Thanks to those who replied, the responses helped a great deal in pointing me in the right direction Fran Roberts Francis Roberts wrote in message <35C6FF44.D26C2496@rl.af.mil>... >Hello, > >My current setup consists of two PII-333s running Redhat 5.1 and PVM 3.4 >beta6, along with a Sun Ultra 3000.
