i have tried to run pvm across machines with rsh/rexec disabled by using the
manual startup option.	below is a transcript of what occurs: basically, the
response from one machine (eg chacha) typed into the pvm console of another
(eg pvm0) hangs the machine until i kill the process.  if anyone knows how to
get this working, please let me know.
