Hello,

I am using PVM 3.3.7 together with an application. The vendor of the
application told me that the application itself will only look for a
special environment varaible (NPROC) to find out how many tasks to
start.
PVM is supposed to create the tasks on the hosts. I have a 2 processor
Octane an 2 single Processor Octanes (Irix 6.4)
I'd like to create one single task on every CPU. How can I do that?

I tried the speed-values in the hostfile (2:1:1) but this doesn't seem
to have any effect. I am starting the pvmd's on each host manually, as I
believe that the console is buggy (displays wrong speed-values from the
hostfile) and I use CODINE as queuing system.

Everything works fine, except the lack of influencing the creation of
the tasks.

Can anybody help me? (Please send email, if yes)

bye
	Lothar
