For a school project my team is attempting to cluster together 5 computers
using SuSE linux and PVM 3.x. The configuration consists of a master (P160)
and four 486 "slaves" ( The slaves are either DX4-100's and one DX2-66 ).
Each of the nodes has a basic SuSE install and PVM installed. All of the
nodes can be reached by telnet [name]. So, the hosts files are all correct.

However, when I load the PVM and issue the ' add node1' command the system
returns an error message stating it can not start on the nodes. We have
tried starting the PVM as a user, and root. Still there is no luck. The
hosts.equiv files have all the nodes and users. Also, we have a .pvmprofile
in each of the home directories of the users we have started PVM with. This
file just has the basic PVM_PATH statement set to the current location of the
PVM software. We do have NFS setup on the master, however that was used
mainly for the installation purposes ( It was the only computer with a cdrom
). Is this some kind of security issue? Is possibly a path issue? For now,
security is not a factor to us. The computers are only hooked up to each
other.

Thank you for your time,
	Joe
