My particular linux 2.0.33 on INTEL 486's frequently goes CPU BANANA's
when memory pressure comes to bear. THIS is NOT a VM problem accessing
swap but something doing with the physical memory access. I think I read
somewhere about a MALLOC memory leak. In my situation INIT always JUMPS
to 100% cpu. PVM is not even installed yet. Only solution so far (for
me) is to add more RAM, reboot, or run smaller, or less programs.
