Hi,

I'm just setting up a beowulf cluster of Linux boxes here at work
(shhhh!) and am getting PVM up and running. (3.4) on RedHat 5.2.

Currently I'm jsst trying to get things up and running over two
machines. 1) minbari (my box and the main server) and jokiesmurf.

I can rsh into my cluster successfully from minbari and I can start
pvm on my machine and pvm happily reports A-OK for my one box with conf.

However when I start to add hosts I get the following weirdness

for instance

add jokiesmurf

(my telnet session to jokiesmurf with a ps shows pvmd start up) yet in
/tmp in the log file it will output

[t80100000] jokiesmurf (9.5.137.110:1067) LINUX 3.3.11
[t80100000] ready Sun Jul 25 22:39:02 1999
[t80100000] work() run = STARTUP, timed out waiting for master
[t80100000] pvmbailout(0)

and from the pvm session on minbari I get
pvm> add jokiesmurf
1 successful
                    HOST DTID
              jokiesmurf 240000

even tho a conf following that will show only 1 machine and that is my
box on which pvm was originally started.

It's like jokiesmurf can't communicate back to my box, yet I can telnet,
ftp and rsh over there from jokie as well...

Anybody have any ideas what I should check? configure?

Thanks for any and all help!
