Newsgroups: comp.sys.transputer From: NewsMan <2021@please.dont.send.email> Subject: Post Mortem Date: Mon, 16 Feb 1998 13:06:17 +0000 Mime-Version: 1.0 Message-ID: In another thread is a discussion of what a new transputer should have, including discussions on pin compatibility etc. I wonder though if anyone has performed a detailed business analysis of why the product failed. (I use the term not technically because it was a great product but failed in the sense that it didn't achieve the market share that it looked like it would.) It seems to me that this analysis needs to be done first or if it has been done that the results be posted here to give respondents a basis upon which to comment on what the future should be. If we don't view the potential future from a basis of the lessons of the past perhaps the same mistakes will occur and that's something none of us wants to see happen. I started a new thread on this so that if there is no single business analysis forthcoming we can add comments here. (Please delete all the above text in any reply.) I can add observations but mine would be mainly theoretical. I know that others have a lot of good experience spread over a number of years so could contribute a lot more. Would YOU care to comment?
