And, indeed, since the transputer, other embedded processors have had
links of sorts - the Ti TMS320C4x (and the C8 which has several
processors on one chip), and the Analog Devices SHARC. 

However, all of them suffer from link technologies that are
over-complicated. And in the case of the SHARC, also a downright
hostile instruction set...
