from my point of view when the transputer arrived
it seemed like the answer to prayers for graphics systems
but the pricing still the biggest nag was way out who was going
to pay that much and get one processor when at the time you could buy
4 Z8000's for the same price and get more done
a turn key system was for the Z8000 was MP/M
aright it was slow but you had the compilers and a system
the links graphic engine which in it's day beat the Cray 1
for rendering could not be built to cost with transputers
to this day the prices are still too much
try buying a single tram unit today £200.00+
as a risc chip it should have had good yield rate from the fab
so costs could have been lower Intel who are struggling to gain
15% yield rate from the pentium pro ( reason for pentium II construction)

can bring the cost down and with no funding!
sorry rant over !!
