Standard is #150, Irq 3 and DMA channel 1
Switches should on your board be set to 10010000. Beware on other
motherboards the switches should be setup in another way. In your
config.sys you should have set
DEVICE=\{PATHNAME}\s708driv.sys /a 150 /d 1 /i 3

Disagree. In real-time systems there is hardware support for
taskswitches and the system is pretty easy to predict (no caches,
pipelines etc). Performance... hmmm... well it's not state of the art
but still it is a very good idea...
