GUM-B
- Abstract
- A new multiblock structured grid generation system has been created for the CFS System II. The structured grid generation
routines were derived from the structured grid system embedded within the NGP system. The new system, GUM-B, is very modular. The GUI, visualization, CAD, and topology sub-systems use the standard
shared libraries of the CFS System. The use of these libraries simplifies the coding and reduces the long-term maintenance required to keep GUM-B viable. Several new features have been added, such as
trimmed surfaces, translation and rotation of surfaces, and "reactive" topology, which allows the geometry to be modified and a new grid to be created without redoing the blocking or point distributions. As
a follow-on to NGP, GUM-B has been shared with all of the former NGP affiliates. In addition, GUM-B is installed at other industry and government sites.
