Teaching and Learning Technology Programme (TLTP) Courseware in High Performance Computing Aims of the Project: To produce Hypertext Courseware for the teaching of High Performance Computing at HEI sites, which may have only limited or even no local Parallel Processing facilities. By High Performance Computing we mean all aspects of parallelism :- Data Parallel, Paradigms, Algorithms, Languages such as Fortran 90, HPF, Occam, Message Passing and MPI. Architectures such as SIMD, MIMD, NCube, Transputer etc. The initial proposal sought funds to produce the material in a form suitable for viewing on PC, Macintosh, UNIX/X Terminal platforms. Simulation software was to be incorporated to allow comparisons of different architectures and the study of scaling effects with larger numbers of processors. Networked access to local facilities, where these were available, was to be incorporated so that parallel code could be written and tested locally. Examples envisaged included : occam on a Meiko, Parallel C on an Ncube and Fortran on a Maspar. The Courseware in High Performance Computing TLTP materials can be found at:
